While working on various circuitbent projects, it occurred to me that I was unable to use multiple instruments at once. To change this, I built a little mixer to put all of my circuitbent instruments into one place. However, to make this more than a mixer, I attached it to the idea of a drum-box. Through a jumble of potentiometers for volume, switches for turning channels on/off, and momentary switches for one-shot drums made from the instruments this box allows four instruments to be used at once. Best of all, the whole thing is passive! No annoying power adapter required! Below is the diagram: ![]() It's a rather simple device, but great if you have three or four circuitbent goodies you want to use at once. I often use it along with my Alphabet Desk and my Speak and Spell to make pretty nice drums. NOTE: For my version of this, I discovered I didn't like mono output a great deal, so I bridged the left and right output pins on a stereo jack to make a stereo output on my box. Audio engineers would probably cry at this practice, but it works for me. ![]() |
