This was the first toy I ever circuitbent, there's something to be said for yard sales. For anyone interested in getting started with circuitbending I would A) suggest you stalk yard sales for great toys like this and B) start with a toy much like this Alphabet Desk - it's inexpensive and not too complicated. This is a pretty simple bend, I simply replaced (re: broke and then replaced) the power switch, then added a reset button, a glitch button, a pitch bend using a variable capacitor, and a switch to switch between a "normal" bootup (as the system usually works) and a bootup that only includes the introductory noise. ![]() There's something to be said for first times. Look at how mangled and destroyed this is. It might not look pretty, but this thing is a fantastic bass synth, I highly reccomend these toys. That said, my version of this toy isn't that fantastic, so I will point you over toward Casper Electronics who did a fantastic job bending this device. Follow his instructions and you'll be fine, mine for this one aren't so complete. Have fun, you can do quite a bit with this one! |
